![]() I want to become proficient in 2D first and then starting working in 3D.ĮDIT: Forgot to add, I'm pursuing frame-by-frame animation, not cut-out puppet style.Animation videos have been gaining more and more popularity and notice in these days. Keep in mind that while I've been drawing my entire life, I am just starting to learn animation now. So yeah, I'd love to hear any and all opinions on the matter. It just seems less cumbersome and more efficient. I don't want to sound stubborn at all because I know that it's the tried and true method and has worked amazingly for so many people, but I really like the aspect of paper-less animation. Maybe I shouldn't? It just seems like such a hassle for me to use up so much paper, scan it all in, do tests etc. I'm sort of neglecting going the classical paper route. Could I perhaps do the initial animation in another program them import it into Toonboom to flesh the scene out into a finished work? ![]() This is a shame as it seems to be the most feature-full program. I think the vector system makes sketching unnatural. I've tried a demo on Toomboom Animate and sketching felt a bit off. But I can't decide which would be the best choice. I'm just wondering how people go about this? I've looked at programs such as Toonboom, Flash, Digicel Flip Book, TVPaint, PAP. I have a Wacom tablet and would really like to animate completely paperless. Looking for a Book and supply recommendations? Check here first.
